I called Koa camp ground to reserve a tent campsite and the attendant told me that they'd all been booked by Tino. She kind of implied that I could just show up as long as I was part of the event and there should be space available. Is this correct? Definitely not trying to crash Tino's spot before I've met the man.

I'll be arriving late Saturday with the family if possible.
Cheers

It appears there are still spots available for Fri online: http://koa.com/campgrounds/manchester-beach/

Sat looks all booked up.

And they are off.

Good luck to those who are going out in gale winds and big waves.  I hope it is not as bad as predicted.  I will be sitting it out but hope everyone makes it back safe.

The conditions were equally shitty for everyone.  Diving in 8-10 surf with 25-35 knots of wind sucked.  Yet, it was fun to meet the challenge.  I have never needed a dive mask to drive a boat before.  That was special.

Adam won the Big Ling and Fish Aggregate comp with a great last minute effort to get back to the hog of the day he had seen 30 minutes earlier deep in a hole.  We were all pushed around by waves, winds, and surge a great deal.  Minor cuts, bruises, and urchin spine stabbings occurred.

Nonetheless, NCUHs took the majority of the first 10 slots out of 114 divers.  I was please to place ninth with a fat Cab, a big black, and a little Black and Yellow.   No style points were awarded for the Octo leg.  It was also not weighed.   Health and I harvesting Octopuses is becoming a BABL tradition that I hope continues.

Cheers,

Tom
