I have achived all my diving goals for this year !!! and they were to just dive and have fun.

What kind of goal is that?!  What do you think the world would be like if we all just had fun?

I didn't set any goals this year.  Good thing too, because I would have failed miserably.  Let's see what I did get done.

I didn't fill my ab card, took 15 tens, left a bunch.

Dove Tobago.  Took plenty of lobster and a fish.  Did a night dive in deep water and saw some huge Tarpon.

Paid for two dive trips, couldn't make either one.

Maybe next year.

A noob, I had no goals except for to shoot a real big fish like in the videos, but here is what I got in the last 6 months:

4 nice Lings so far freediving
a couple cabs
some big rockfish
4 abs over 8.5, one a 9" and left a 9" on a rock
met and dove with Jeremy
got a Yak
Met BigJIm
learned to be selective and leave keeper lings and abs be
drove 3 hours and walked away from a dive out of caution
found a speargun
got a good set of gear ironed out
got comfortable at 50ft and 2:00
learned from losing/leaving gear that I have to take this more seriously and methodically . . . .

1) shoot a red
2) shoot a MFE completed 4.8lbs
3) take 2 10" abs
4) 20#+ ling close but no cigar
5) dive south of the Golden Gate complete
6) return Mike N's mid handle tried. But it has made me take on a rookie for 2015
7) buy a dive watch
8) buy a kayak was gifted one
9) dive with at least 4 NCUWH members that I haven't already dove with.
Complete
10) pay it forward  for the generosity I have received in 2013. Trying but I will never truly complete this goal

Good luck to everyone and completing their goals!

Above water.
Hike half dome again
Camp as much as I can anywhere I can working on it. Camped more than last year
The world is made up of 71 percent water. Go grab your wet suit and lets go diving...

This year my goal is to be the best husband and father that I can be, learn from the mistakes I made in 2013 (both above and below water) and to get BOTH my daughters out on the water with me!! : )

Sincerely,

Jim

Been doing pretty good so far! Have shot a few decent fish, been having fun messing around with video footage and been working on my FOTY (Father Of The Year) points.  ;)

Just need to keep working at it with the wifey and get little Jayme out there...right now she likes playing on the sand more than getting on the yak, but hopefully soon!

Sincerely,

Jim

I've been kicking ass in racking up the FOTY points.  ;D

Been taking both girls out every Sunday for Father/Daughter beach/kayaking/fishing/fun days!!  ;D

Now need to get Jayme to catch her first fish!!! :)

Also, have gotten a ton of diving PBs/ties for PBs/firsts so far:

1. Halibut: 41.25 inches and 31 pounds
2. Abalone: 10.5 inches (first 4 tens this year)
3. Cabezon: 23.75 inches (have shot one equal and one bigger but other people saw them both first  ;))
4. Sheephead: 29 inches
5. Black And Yellow RF: 13.75 inches
6. Grass RF: 18.25 inches (tied PB)
7. Blue RF: 16.5 inches (tied PB)
8. Olive RF: 20 inches
9. Copper RF: 13.75 inches
10. Brown RF: 18 inches
11. Angel Shark: 44+ inches (first)

Hoping to get a bunch more fun memories with my daughters and a few more nice fish before the years over!!

 :)

Sincerely,

Jim

Got one more PB species before the year ended, 22.25 inch Verm, and a bunch more FOTY points.

 ;D

Sincerely,

Jim
