Get a yak rack for my car.

Learn to edit my GoPro vids using GoPro Studio 2.

Get a yak.

Start diving with less than 25 pounds of lead.

Start dropping a couple crab traps (during the season) before every dive.

The Lord has given us the seafood; let us enjoy it.

This year my goal is to be the best husband and father that I can be, learn from the mistakes I made in 2013 (both above and below water) and to get BOTH my daughters out on the water with me!! : )

Sincerely,

Jim

Been doing pretty good so far! Have shot a few decent fish, been having fun messing around with video footage and been working on my FOTY (Father Of The Year) points.  ;)

Just need to keep working at it with the wifey and get little Jayme out there...right now she likes playing on the sand more than getting on the yak, but hopefully soon!

Sincerely,

Jim

My goal:
1) Get in the freakin' water!!
2) ... see above.

We're getting close to the halfway point for 2014 and thought maybe it's time for a little "check-up" to see how everyone is doing.  I guess I'll start:

2014 Goals:

1) Shoot a *&^%ing Monkey Face Eel...Haven't even seen one yet and it's killing me
2) 6 or more 10" abs on the card this year
3) Shoot a male sheepshead over 17 pounds
4) Shoot a Yellowtail
5) Shoot a WSB
6) Bring PR bottom time from 1:24 to 2 min
7) Shoot a PR for lingcod, so over 26 pounds

So far:
1) DONE; 27" MFE Taken
2) 6 10" abalone taken (3 of 6)
3) DONE (17.2 pound male sheepshead)
4) Incomplete...
5) Incomplete...
6) Incomplete...
7) Incomplete...

Crap, I thought I had done more, haha.  I guess I'll have to make the most of that Peace Boat Trip in September.

Ok guys, third quarter is over. Anyone getting closer to their goals for the year? Jeremy, I think you knocked out a bunch of them.

Here's where I am with them:
1) Done
2) 4 10" abs and an 11.257" ab. One 10" ab needed
3) Done
4) Done! Got two yellowtail and a bonito with Charlie this year
5) Working on it...#!#*!
6) Breaking 1:05-1:10 now but not close to 2:00 yet
7) Done! 28.5# lingcod on a bad scale. Was probably heavier

Getting close!!!

1) Pull my tenth ten - check
2) Pull a ten pound Ab - check
3) Shoot a mess of fish off my paddle board then surf in on a wave with my fish and spear gun without impailing myself - After surfing a few waves in with a load of crabs on the front of the paddle board, I decided that this goal is fool hearty.  The uneven weight on the front of the board compromises stability in a big way.  Adding sharp objects to the mix just doesn't make sense.  I have surfed some sweet overhead waves on the paddle board this year.  Yet, this goad will remain unmet unless I take up drinking before diving.

I've been kicking ass in racking up the FOTY points.  ;D

Been taking both girls out every Sunday for Father/Daughter beach/kayaking/fishing/fun days!!  ;D

Now need to get Jayme to catch her first fish!!! :)

Also, have gotten a ton of diving PBs/ties for PBs/firsts so far:

1. Halibut: 41.25 inches and 31 pounds
2. Abalone: 10.5 inches (first 4 tens this year)
3. Cabezon: 23.75 inches (have shot one equal and one bigger but other people saw them both first  ;))
4. Sheephead: 29 inches
5. Black And Yellow RF: 13.75 inches
6. Grass RF: 18.25 inches (tied PB)
7. Blue RF: 16.5 inches (tied PB)
8. Olive RF: 20 inches
9. Copper RF: 13.75 inches
10. Brown RF: 18 inches
11. Angel Shark: 44+ inches (first)

Hoping to get a bunch more fun memories with my daughters and a few more nice fish before the years over!!

 :)

Sincerely,

Jim

What kind of goal is that?!  What do you think the world would be like if we all just had fun?
