kelp carrots
« on: October 28, 2009, 09:16:07 AM »
Do the kelp carrots at neptonics come with a line?  Or can any float line be clipped to the carrot? I'm wondering if I get a kelp carrot if I need to get one of those pvc float lines to use with it.

Give josh a call at neptonics and ask him.

Josh will hook you up, to rig it for what you got.
(or else he'll sell you something better than what you have...)

I just talked to Josh yesterday about this and had him rig me a float on a 50' floatline. You dont want it to clip onto an existing fl, not so streamlined. He'll even make sure you get the right clip that will attatch to your speargun. Definately hit him up!!

I have two of the Neptonic egg floats for up north, but I'd like to get a full sized carrot for seabass/yellowtail next year.

I have the large size and it works great is easy to pull through the water and kelp up north and down south.  The only problem I was using a 75 foor float line and looking for abs and tied it in  knot around several strands of kelp.  It had nothing to do with the float just me crossing and recrossing my line while diving.

i wonder how you are going to "get" one  :laughing7: . i wouldn't recommend a carrot for yt unless you are into watching a couple hundred bucks in shaft ,tip ,and float line disappear into the blue when you connect with a 30#-40# fish away from the kelp .i created the carrots for use as a low profile marker , end of line stopper for hunting in the kelp there is no flotation to help you fight a fish in open water

So, when you say "get" do you mean a carrot, or a seabass? ;)
