You guys are already aware of this BS.  I wouldn't mind contributing to the wardens at all.  But I work for the state and I can guarantee you that  pretty soon the politicians would either raise the license fees so our donation would become fixed or they would take the money and put it in the general fund to have fun with.

The donations are a well intentioned idea, but it would only help DFG for a year at most until somebody more powerful than DFG decides it wants the money.

That's my two cents.  I wish it wasn't so.

I read elsewhere that there is not actually a stamp that will be issued.

it is step one to making it become a requirement.  Once the requirement is there it will not likely be removed.  These things happen all too often under our very noses.

BINGO!! Very good point Mike! Like Brandon said, its all good the first year, next year it will be mandatory. No "donation".

:sign13: Okay, now that is a very, very good point.  I'm wrong.  Can I have my 5 bucks back on this one or is it too late?  I've thought it over and you are absolutely right about the crutch situation and it being step one towards mandatory. :evil5:

And as for the ticket for losing a gauge, it was a hypothetical, I was never fined.  I would never under any circumstances expect preferential treatment for donating to a cause I happen to support.

All in all if the money actully went to the wardens only it would be good with me, I just don't want to see the money dumped into the general fund to pay for other crapy services we don't need.
I agree with this statement.
If they specified what the money was going to be spent on then I would be more inclined to fork out the money.
