I have heard a lot about diving tamales. Ive heard the tides and currents in the bay are crazy and if you dont watch it you con end up a 1/4 mile away from where you started. My only advise would be to dive on an in coming tide....

Jason that would be a given as well as a boat tender to come get you when you signal.

I had an offer to go with a guy who dives tomales for butts all the time.  He was saying you need to be prety quick on the gun because you are sweeping over the bottom and are not able to turn around and go back after one you swim over.  all in all it sounds like a lot of fun.

you need to be prety quick on the gun because you are sweeping over the bottom and are not able to turn around and go back after one you swim over.
Depending on how fast the tide is moving and what the vis is like you may only get one quick chance to shoot. But that is part of the fun and challenge of it and the boats buzzing over your head.
