Huge Haul and Cold steel

Ended up weighing 14lbs of mushrooms-Blewitt,Shaggy Parasol,Oyster and Boletus Chrysenteron. Female Steelhead went 10lbs on the dot

Russ, good job.  Do you find the mushrooms close to where you live?  Is that the dam behind you in the picture with the fish?  Congratulations again.

Dude excellent foray, looks like you have enough parasol to dry but the blewit is best preserved french duxelle style.  Duxelle is often a start of many dishes in french cooking, its great to stuff in things like salmon or wild bird.  But my favorite duxelle recipie is to jar it up, preserved toped with a little olive oil and you can keep it whenever you need to make soup or stuffing.  If you have a dehydrator, the next step is a pressure cooker.  I can chanterelles whole in wine w garlic and thyme, but a duxelle is a great way to handle a glut of fungi....
