FALL/WINTER 2012 SEASON FINDS
« on: November 19, 2012, 09:45:11 AM »
Let's get a thread going to post our recent finds guys.

Also anyone should feel free to post pics of finds they're not sure about and hopefully get feedback and ID help from others.  Try to label each pic with the species name/common names if you can.

I just had my first good haul of the season yesterday up in Salt Point.  I got out there way late ~1pm and still managed to score some nice porcinis and chants...in fact I came across the biggest porcini and the biggest chanterelle I've ever found.

Boletus edulis var. grandedulis (aka King Bolete, Porcini, Cep)

Boletus edulis, Cantharellus subalbidus (white chanterelles), and Cantharellus californicus (giant golden chanterelle)

Nice haul, Julian.  Due to the late season this year, I missed the Humboldt bolete fruiting by 2 weeks.  Nevertheless, I did find some of the usual suspects.

I sure miss living up there...
