Training a new Diver
« on: April 18, 2012, 09:40:14 AM »
Hello fellow divers, I'm taking a new diver (wife) up this weekend for a training dive. Since Fort Ross is closed, dose anyone know a good place to dive this weekend that would be easy for a new diver along the Sonoma coast? Looking for calm as possible area so she can get her sea legs in. Thanks for your help.

Is Ft. Ross closed to all diving or just abalone harvest?

Thanks for the help Matt!! I'll try Timber cove. This will be interesting to show first hand what its like getting an Ab off the rock underwater:) Remember to dive safe out there.

Only Frot Ross is closed, and only till June.  Here's the link to the map of the closure.

Just as a heads up, you may want to log on to California DFG site before you plan a trip this year.
Here's the link to all the closed zones in Northern California (Except Fort Ross)
