Pt. Lobos is in Carmel, just south of Monterey. Home to some of the best vis 30+ft most days, large schools of blues and huge lings, cabezons, leopard sharks all not shy when it comes to divers since its a marine preserve.
I have pics of Matt, Rob & Chesmore posing next to a huge ling!

yeah.. pt lobos is AWESOME! the hiking is incredible and i highly recommend it as well.  the diving is so nice because you can just walk down the boat ramp to get in and its so calm and the marine life is so abundant.. i remember last time we dove we saw some of the biggest cabezon and lings i have ever seen... life is just everywhere!

they only let a certain number of divers in the water per day and you have to show your C-card just to dive there.  you have to make reservations online and the weekends fill up quickly but if you take a weekday off you can almost always get a spot and its totally worth it.
