Same thing with the meat grinder, run the abalone through twice until it almost becomes mush.  Mix the ground meat with a little bit of bread crumbs so the patties stick together, and not to your hands.  A minute or two on each side in a hot skillet with a little oil.  Serve it on a bun if you like with your favorite condiments:

Ya' know rob, they have other attachments, if that's what you need..... ;)

Seriously though, my wife got the meat grinder attachment for about $40 at Target.

(The Kitchen-Aid mixer however was about $300)

We purchased a meat grinder in December and decided last week to try grinding up an abalone from the freezer. Our recipe is a variation of the above recipe. After grinding the abalone, I chopped up part of a yellow onion, a green bell pepper, garlic clove, then added bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Then I mixed it all together. Instead of frying the burger patties, I put them into the oven at 325 degrees for about fifteen minutes on each side. The burgers held together really well and tasted great. They were even good cold in a sandwich the next day.

BTW fella's I found a grinder in the box that has the pasta maker in it, try home made pasta with fresh ab in a white sauce. I dont have a recipe yet but when I get a fresh ab I will come up with one.

My wife bought me a KA grinder attachment for Xmas.  I have one ab left from last year and I think this recipe will be on the list soon.

Thanks
