Hmmm, I may be finally ready to switch from the inner tube I've been using since I was a kid and make one of these bad boys. But the inner tube has NEVER failed me. I like how the boogey board has less wind drag to it though. Anybody make the switch yet and have some input on this??

I havent made the switch but im curious? What are the benefits to the board other than the tube. The obvious like you said less wind drag but how does it perform and with the game bag isn't it more work. I have a tube shaped like a small zodiac its 3' long and 2' wide but its a pain to hike in with and adds weight to your gear as a whole so im on the fence with this one...Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I use both dive bord and tube, the bord is good for covering grownd and your out of the water when on it, but a pain to take in and out of rocky areas or if you have a walk to the water.
the tube is light waight, compact, lift it in and out of the water with one hand or just toss it.

I am considering a change but hesitant to make the change from old trustee tube. The thing that worries me is and I have watched happen before is stuff falling off your board while in the water and while on the walk to and from the dive site. So any fed back would be great.

I know what you mean Matt. I saw abs fall right off the board walking to the car after the dive. But I think that can be fixed with a proper goodie bag attatched to the boogie board. It will be hard for me to get away from the ol inner tube, but I really like some of the floats that are being made. I may make my own and tailor it to my specific needs. One thing I really like about the rigid board is that you can velcro your speargun to the side of it. It's pretty hard to mount my speargun to the inner tube. My $.02.

I drilled holes along the edge of my bord for clip points then cris-crossed bungee on the front so I can tie down everything or attach anything.

Alright Matt,

I give you permission to use my pictures of my ab boards and take them from Spearboard.  And if YOU ALL ask nicely, I will show you how to make some really nice ab boards.  Those tubes are a thing of the past.  Guys, get with the times.  It's a new generation.  Get with it.   ;D ;D  Those of you that have seen my boards know what I am talking about.
