Memorial weekend conditions (5/29/10)
« on: May 29, 2010, 06:42:40 PM »
Dave mentioned wanting a report on how the water looked today (5/29). Here's what we saw... Salt point 7:00am. Swell was 2-4' with surf in the 3-5' range. Nothing that couldn't be handled easily with a good entry point. Vis was 2-10' depending on the pocket you're in. Average 4-5' vis. Wind was calm and the sun as out but was starting to pick up by 9am. Tide was WAY out. Rock pickers everywhere along 1. I would expect similar conditions and tide tomorrow. We saw emergency vehicles ALL along 1 some with sirens going. BE SAFE ALL!

I hit up Gerstle this weekend.  Not bad conditions at all.  Viz could've been a little better but it wasnt terrible...maybe 6-10'.  Saw a couple decent sized fish and lots of nice abs, pulled two 9s and called it a day (starting to limit my daily take so I dont run out of tags).

Oh and Matt that was me who said whats up to you passing by at the Ocean Cove parking lot...just in case you were wondering "who in the hell was that."

Really wasnt expecting it to be much of a dive weekend and I thought the water would be rougher than it was but I saw lots of folks out and most of the coves were pretty manageable.
