Recommend vacuum sealer
« on: November 19, 2019, 12:16:19 PM »
I'm trying to find a vacuum sealer that can seal lots of meat back to back without waiting in between seals. I have a FoodSaver 4840 now. It's ok but way to slow. Any suggestions?

Heard cabelas has good ones.  Around 300-400 bones.  Or just look at commercial/industrial/restaurant grade on c-list.   Let’s get out der soon

I've gone through a couple sealers over the last few years.

I finally did a ton of research and got this one.  It hits all the high points for me and isn't so big i can't bring it on the live aboard or have it in my truck.  I was able to process a couple 18-lb fish without any wait time.

I’d get a chamber vac.  Vacmaster is supposed to be the best but it’s 50lbs.

Thanks for the replies.  The chamber vac looks interesting.  I'll have to measure counter space :D.
I'll look at the normal sized ones as well. I normally do about 50 to 100 bag seals in a row. The one I have now does about 5 in a row and it says it's the number one vacuum sealer in some circles. I'll cross my fingers it's not.

Good info I've been wanting a bigger one myself, not necessarily for speed but for bag size. What kind of stuff are you into that you're sealing 100 bags at once?

My Foodsaver Mini has no trouble keeping up with the quantity I need. I guess I'm just an amateur hunter/bagger

The newer game saver vacs seem to not last as long compared to the older ones.  The sealer strip on mine dosnt work at all anymore and it's only been about 6 months.  I filled 2 chest freezers and a stand up freezer with tuna, salmon, rockfish and elk which is a little more than average but the old ones usually gave me a good 3 years worth of sealing.   My buddy said he had the same problem on his  last 2 newer ones as well.
