An agenda and meeting materials to support the webinar will be circulated via email and posted online (here) in the coming weeks to help you prepare for the discussions. We anticipate reviewing results from  Management Strategy Evaluation for the 2-zone options and further refining the de minimis fishery management options.

Thank you for your patience and understanding around the need to cancel  the October 30, 2019 webinar,  as a result of the wildfires and power outages that were impacting North Central California.. We will continue with the previously scheduled November meeting, and anticipate holding a final webinar in December. Details will be shared via this email list and online (here) as soon as they are available.

We kindly ask for your support circulating this information to your peers and constituents via your newsletters, blogs, social media, and other communications outlets.

Any positive movement for the 2020 season?  My ab gauges are slowly turning into garage decoration.

No.

My take:

Based on the existing science, right now best odds are of a de minimis ab fishery in maybe 11 years, though there are some good arguments in favor of making it sooner. But with uncertain environmental conditions any predictions are speculative at best.
If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.  –Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
