+1.  I did some shore diving from Santa Rosa over the summer.  It was really fun but after a couple days of hiking many miles with my dive gear, I began to see the wisdom of the boat!
I'd love to go on a trip like this, what are the next steps for making this happen?

I’m definitely interested. Anyone know how much the cost of the trip will be?

It depends on the boat and the destination. Peace boat out of Ventura can be chartered for about $4,000/day, obviously a Cortez banks trip would cost more that an Anacapa or Sta Cruz trip. I assume the rates for the Truths Aquatics boats out of Santa Barbara are in the same ballpark price.
