3rd recreational Urchin removal event ~ Competition??

What do you guys think about setting up a competition to see who can pick the most urchin at these events?  I think it could help people stay in the water a bit longer and pull a couple more bags.   Could help attract people too.

Anyone who wants to enter could donate $10, half go to Watermans, half go to winner(s).  Maybe split the half that goes up to the winners between the top 5.  We could also try to get a prize donation and give all the money to the cause.  Could do scuba and freedive divisions, but I'm thinking not. 

Hopefully the half going to Watermans could persuade Josh to keeping totals on bags taken...

This is a GREAT idea! Although, in order to be accurate, we might need to weigh the bags instead of hoping everyone fills them up the same amount.

I think the best way is to use 5 gallon bucket to measure a diver catch, weight no so much because that wold encourage divers not to take the small tiny ones and only take the bigger ones for more weight and we want all those purple fukers removed even the  dime sized ones.

As I said before, you guys are more than welcome to organize this between yourselves and more than welcome to open it up to other participants if you want.  I do keep track of the number of bags pulled by each diver but after that they all get mixed together.  My suggestion would be that you specify that they have to be full bags.  Your participants should keep a lumber crayon to mark their number on the collection bags.  We can cross them out as we empty them.  You're more than welcome to do it but you have to handle it all.  I've got too much other stuff going on.
