Where did the Northern Cal Buoy Data go?
« on: October 12, 2016, 07:19:45 AM »
This was my go-to site for checking the water:

http://www.lajollasurf.org/nocal.html

It's been down for weeks. Any ideas?

I use this one and Magic Seaweed.

http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/data/Forecasts/FZUS56.KEKA.html

I use the same two as many other people as well, also magic seaweed pro provides a 16 day forcast which is awsome for planning trips ahead of time.
Also is the randy fry dive still on as scheduled? pouring rain and 20 foot swells is not looking good.  sucks that a good event had terrible timing

Thanks, I use all those other sites as well. But the site I am referring to gave a great visual display of the swells/periods up and down the coast. More importantly, it gave current conditions, rather than predicted conditions. I find all the other sites to be inconsistent with each other.

The california bouy is still giving information just not every hour, here is the bouy list you can click on the california bouy and look at the swell information.

http://www.surfline.com/buoy-report/sonoma-county_2948/

Surfline buoy page for NCal buoys.  It's current NOAA data, but summarized in a more user-friendly fashion.
