Yet, another f10 bits it
« on: September 25, 2016, 08:24:40 PM »
So when the f10 watch works it's a great watch. Unfortunately its broken more that it works. Got out today for a nice dive. First half the day it worked great. Then it started to go into time mode on decents. On the surface It went back into freedive mode of some sort. Once I was don't getting my fish for the day and made it back to shore the watch went blank. So that was watch number 3 in less than a year. Glad it's a two year warranty. Hopefully number 4 will last a little longer.

Well, started off a little slow but then it picked up. Got a limit of Lings and rock fish. Also had a nice scallop for lunch. Had great vis. Unfortunately on the last ling I shot I lost my big blue dive Light. Bad day for gear, great day for fish.

Another f10 post? Damn your on a role dude! Haha jk. Glad you had a good day with some good fish.
God grant me the vision to dream of catching fish, the focus to visualize myself catching fish, the faith to believe that I will catch fish, and the wisdom to keep the freezer stocked with hamburgers and hot dogs.

so I guess the second spot was the key, should have skipped deer hunting and stayed, fish are harder to miss than deer

It was pretty productive. I got 2 lings right away on back to back dives. Saw 2 more while I was loading up on rock fish. Hopefully next time that spot is calmer earlier in the day.

What hell. Sorry to hear. Is this aeris or oceanic?

I wonder if there's something to that. I bought my F10 almost 3 years ago when it was still made by Aeris and haven't had any issues with it, short of the backlight going out (never used it anyways).
Change is inevitable, growth is optional.

If that's the case, looks like after the warranty is up I'll look at diffrent options. Its hard to find a good freedive watch for a reasonable price.

You've got the touch, that's the only explanation! Hopefully it's only with watches and not cars.

Don't know what you consider "reasonable" but I have been very pleased with my suunto d4. Changed the last two batteries myself, very easy. Shop in Sac charge $75.00 and 2-3 week wait.

Good luck

I'm hoping I've just been unlucky the 1st 3x's. 4th times the charm I believe.
Just recently got a car so hopefully it's not cars. But I did get the suckers extended warranty just in case.

D4 is more of a scuba watch.  Does it have a Freedive mode or do you have to go up to the next $800 level for that.

D4i Freedive mode works awesome. I love the watch. Easy to use and lots of features. There's a pretty screaming deal right now from a watch store in Florida, too. All their Suunto watches are on sale.

That is a good price but their original price is way higher than others so as long as someone buying knows you really are not getting 50 percent off.
